Default Ball joints

I got a 2001 Accord and just want to replace the ball joints. I am kinda broke and can't afford to change the arm right now and don't use the car all that much anyway. But I am afraid the ball joint might break so want to definitely change that. Is it worth just changing them or would I just be wasting money? I don't care if the car's a little misaligned (not drive much) as long as I haev piece of mind that the whole thing won't fall apart leaving me stranded on the road!

I dont really understand.

1) Are the current ball joints bad?

2) changing them is pretty easy and I do not know of any reason why you would been to change the A-Arm as well.

Upper ball joint is normally "part of" the upper control arm. Maybe that's what he's talking about.

If the rubber boots are simply torn, but the balljoints still work OK, you can get the rubber boots from a dealer.
