cutting stock springs
ive got a 91 accord and my front left spring is cracked near the bottom. ive herd that cutting your stock springs is a bad idea, but now that one is already broken, and cause my car is so old, i didnt think cutting the rest would be a bad thing. im going to have to replace my strut bars soon anyway. im kinda cheap so i was just trying to find a cheap way to lower my car a little. ive got some wheels picked out too. 205/40/17 and i was wondering if they would still fit without rubbing if it was lower. thanks

RE: cutting stock springs
You heard right, it is a bad idea. Dont, dont, dont cut your springs. Its going to ride like crap, and its probably not the safest either. You can find a set of springs for what, $200? Just invest a little money and do it the right way, you will be much happier in the long run.

RE: cutting stock springs
The Tein springs I would trust. I would buy the name brand stuff on eBay, but those "JDM" coilovers? No way, man. I love how everything is marketed as "JDM" on eBay. I wonder how many people fall for that?
I would stick with name brand stuff, make sure they have a part number for it so you can go to the manufacturer's website and verify that it does what they say it will do (i.e. it lowers the car as much as they say it will).
