Do I need Shocks, Struts or Both?
So I'm having issues with my car where I ride over bumps and it makes clonking sounds. I figured it's probably time to put in new shocks and I want to replace all 4 at the same time but I'm not sure if I need all shocks or all struts or shocks in the front and struts in the back. Also, where can I go to get a good price to replace all suspensions? Is $200-$350 reasonable for all 4 suspensions or can I find cheaper? I'm not looking for anything special like lowering or anything just the default height.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Difference between shocks & struts is just semantics. Your car has struts (shock with the spring incorporated together).
If you buy only the shock (without the spring) then you'll need a spring compressor to install your old spring onto the new shock.
But I've heard where it's almost the same price to buy the complete strut. Shop around.
