Default Help In Lowering

Hello all , i have an accord 97 LX stock with 15"s on it right now. im putting 17"s on it and would jus like to lower it by 1 -1.5 " in the front and back. wat would i need ? coilovers or springs ?
if coilovers , would they just do the job or would i need the camber kits with that too ?

anyone knows any good places to buy from when lowering the car moderately not too low ?

Venks, you're asking some of the same questions I have, so I'm watching for the answers that you get too.

My '98 2DR, already has 17" rims, 45 series tires, and I want to lower mine too by 1-1.5". My first choice was Bilsteins w/ H&R springs. I don't think we'll need a camber kit for that sort of drop.

But because I live where it snows, and don't want to give up ground clearance in the winter, I'm leaning toward coilovers so I can adjust the drop to where I want it.

So far, the coilovers I'm deciding on are fromMegan. They make them for several other well-known brands. The units that seem to make the most sense are the one's w/ the adjustable top-plate built in. That way you can adjust the camber, from what I undersand.

Hope this doesn't hijack your thread. It sounds like we're both trying to accomplish the same thing, and the kind experts here will walk us through.

hey , Nah not at all man, good to kno sum1 sailin in de same boat as me haha.....
yeh i got 17"S too but i live in canada so i have good amount of snow in winters thats y i dont wanna drop it more than 1-1/2 inches.......also im purchasin a lip kit for all around so dont wanna go too low.

yeh i also went thru some other threads and found that for this much we would jus neet coilovers not springs....camber kits i aint sure about , but hopefully sumone would help.

Yeh i heard a lot bout megan but lets see wich other brands we can find . if you finally decide on the ones you wanna get do let me know too plz.
also its off topic but i se u got the header and bars installed , have they made any difference or are they worth getting ?

The general rule of thumb is that any drop over 1" needs a camber kit. As for adjustable coilovers Bilstein does make some nice ones but there are a few others as well. For ease of use try to find some shocks/struts that are threaded then it just requires a wrench and a couple of minutes to move the car either up or down... As for just lowering it without plans to raise the car again H&R OE Sport Springs will do the trick and drop you 1-1.5"

so we would need camber kits n matter if we use coilovers or springs ?

so bascially we have three options ? coilovers , springs and the shocks or struts with coilovers around it ?
which one is the best option ?
springs are pretty much out of question if you want to keep the possibility of raising the car once evr again ?
