Horrible clunking on rough streets.
I've searched all over the forum and can't find a definite answer to this and can't find anyone else with a similar problem. So here goes:
I've got a 2003 EX V6 with 151K miles. It has developed a really bad clunking sound. I can feel it worse when I'm going about 15mph down a fairly bumpy street or down my alley. It's a bone jarring rattle that seems to be coming from the front end somewhere. I can also feel it slightly when I turn the engine on or off and when I let off the pedal after accelerating quickly.
I thought at first it might be my struts, but they aren't bouncy and seem fine. When I looked behind the front wheels, there's a bracket with what appears to be a rubber isolator that holds the subframe to the body. That rubber isolator is broken all the way through on both sides. I've searched all over for a part number or even a proper name for what this is to no avail. The part drawings I found on Majestic don't really help and as best I could tell they might be #s 1088315 and 1088319, front subframe bracket sets for the left and right.
Question #1: Is this the probable cause of my clunking noise?
Question #2: If so, are these the proper part numbers/names?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here are a couple of pictures I took today while putting on new brake pads/rotors. This is of the front driver's side wheel well.

Re: Horrible clunking
Have you looked at the motor mounts. Our 2000 accord has had both mounts replaced. Also the control arm bushings can cause this as well as the bushings on the stabilizer bar. These are the items that I have replaced to fix similar problems on our accord.

I looked on Majestic just now & can't find a better picture either. You're looking at "Front Bulkhead", correct?
Since they're broken, YES they can cause the clunking. Majestic uses their own catalog number, I don't think that's the real Honda part number.

Thanks for the replies.
The Honda guy who quickly looked over the car said the motor mounts were fine. I checked the control arm bushings and they seemed to be in good shape, nothing like these in the photos. And yes, I'm looking at the front bulkhead.
