ok, with my funds I can either save for two weeks and buy a master brake cylinder, or spend 100$ on strut bar and buy the cylinder next paycheck. what would you do?

If something as critical as the MC is suspect, I would fix it before worrying about a strut bar.

strut bar wont be much help when you rear-end the manure truck. fix the brakes!

do some research and find out where it's leaking from, on a number of those there is an o-ring that fails ($2.00 part) that you can replace and fix it..
