I have the pro-kits and love them. Front can be aligned to spec and he rear camber is negligible with regard to excess tire wear. I have them on stock dampers now, but upgrading to Koni's when I can.

Yea I've heard they are good springs..and you don't need a camber kit, am I right ? On stocks right now i had a lot of tire-wear, it seems, on the fronts, but its even on both sides for as far as i can tell...and the backs look like brand new tires almost...

What kind of Koni's are you looking at ?
What do you think about Koni reds ?? Would anyone perfer those over the KYB AGX's ?? The FAQ on this forum says they are more reliable and rigid valving than KYB's..and are around the same price..any opnions ?

No camber kit needed. I have had a lot of tire wear in the front too, but I drive "spirited" as they like to call it on here.

I'm going with Koni yellows (Sports) and there is a group buy if your interested for ~30-40% off.

At the risk of stating the obvious, whether or not you need to adjust the camber with a camber kit is not governed by the brand of spring, but by how much any spring lowers the chassis, the more you lower it the more negative camber you will get. For a road car you probably wouldn't want more than about 1.5° of neg camber, though 2° may be OK according to some people.

Excessive camber will contribute somewhat to tyre wear, but not nearly so much as incorrect toe setting. For best tyre wear you want zero toe front and rear, and the more you deviate from this the more wear you'll get, and whatever wear you get from toe will be excacerbated by camber. So, the more camber you run the more important minimal toe becomes as far as wear is concerned. Wear from toe alone will be even on both sides.

From a wear perspective, you can get away with more misalignment(s) on the rear simply because the rear tyres carry less load and wear more slowly, which isn't a good reason to be lax about rear alignment, it does affect your handling to a substantial degree.

Koni reds ('Special' is the Koni name) are softer than the yellows ('Sports'), but stiffer than standard toward the stiffer end of adjustment. My understanding is that all 'reds' are only adjustable if you take them off the car and dismount the spring (like the rear 'yellows' for Hondas). They are a bit cheaper than the yellows, and still a very good damper (used to have an Alfa Romeo with them, they were very good).

They will be better than the AGXs because they are Konis. Having said that, if you don't intend to own the car for a long time and don't drive on rough roads the AGXs may be a reasonable alternative to the Konis red or yellow.

Be aware that the AGXs have more adjustment options, and you may find them more confusing to set up to your liking.

Wow, You give a lot of info, thanks!
Just showing off, tragic really!

Maybe not, I just start typing and finish when I think I've more or less covered it. Often means I end up typing a lot more than I originally intended to.

and i needed a shock that can handle the drop from the Eibach pro-kit springs (f 1.2" r 1.2") ( i chose those now because i read a lot of reviews and those springs usually dont require a camber kit or multiple alignments ) and im only 16 so money could be an issue...
Mate, I'm only 48, and money is definitely always an issue!

The yellows are supposed to be able to handle a reasonable lowering, but I don't know by how much. In any case it would depend a lot on the rate of the lowering spring, the lower it goes the stiffer the spring will need to be to prevent excessive bottoming out, which is not particularly good for the damper even with good bump stops. Your spring supplier and / or Koni dealer ought to be able to advise you on the specifics of Koni compatability re lowering with your chosen springs.

I have a feeling that Koni do make versions suitable for very big drops, though I'm not sure. If so then they're likely to be less easily available (special order I'd expect, maybe special price?). You don't want to go too low anyway, causes too many problems and can ruin the suspension geometry and handling.
