havent really been a big fan of offset until my earlier class of brakes n suspension...heck until then i didnt realize that i already knew what it was...i read a previous post where i cant remember who...but...sayin +38mm offset was too low....what would be a proper offset for new wheels...preferably 17" or 18", and also being said that....would deep dish wheels not co-op right with 6th gens?

 

"Offset" & "Backspacing" are really the same thing, measured from opposite directions on the wheel.

Hondas normally want an offset of around 50 or 55mm or so.

If you use a much different offset, you'll have to worry about the following things:
Too much offset = rubbing against the shock.
Too little offset = rubbing against the outer sheetmetal fender arch.
EITHER DIRECTION = incorrect loading of the wheel bearings.

 

heh...so basically the relationship of offset goes in this order if u were looking at the passenger side tire from the passenger rear door... +/- ..i got it now...

preciate it...i hear 225/45/17 is ok...

 

Either that size tire or also 225/50/17 1/2 ' higher than the other

 

thanx WBA but since its such a small diff in size...would the ride diff be noticeable?

 

You can go with a 38 offset but you will rub on the back fender if your lowered the safe is 40 and up for all FWD cars the lower offset is kind of for rear wheel and all wheel cars

 

for 17 i would take the stock tire and subtract 5 from the side wall ratio and for 18 subtract 10 so like if stock is 205/50/16 go 215/45/17 or 225/40/18 and so on

 

The rule of thumb is that an increase or a decrease in your overall tire diameter of more than 3% may affect your ABS if you have it..

So watch so that You dont create yourself a bigger problem..and dont forget about the newer cars with TPMS
