Default upgrades?

looking to replace the old worn out struts(i know it has struts up front but not sure if it is shocks or struts in the rear) but i am wondering if there are any decent performing brands out there...i dont want them so stiff that it jumps sideways when i hit a bump but something firmer than the factory ones would be nice...any recomendations? i dont have a fortune to spend on them so please keep that in mind when recomending parts.

those seem like a very good price...how much better does it handle after installing those? how hard is it to change the struts yourself? i just did my ball joints and last week but i have never changed struts before. just sorta curious.

my car handles so much better, but i also have tein springs on too so im not sure how much difference just the shocks made. replacing them is so much easier than lower ball joints, like rediculously easier. my handling definately improved. i can confidently dip into corners now. i can just dump it before a turn like if im trying to make it through a light, and just swing the wheel over and there is just no question about it holding on. and high speed lateral grip is good too, on a 45mph freeway interchange, 100 is no problem at all

yeah i know the ones that are in it now are shot.....if i am going around a curve and there is a bump in it it makes the car shimmy side to side and it can be pretty tough to keep it going straight...and it bounces like 4 times when i go over a hill or a good bump...also it nose dives hard and the rear comes up when i stop...its definatly overdue for some new ones.

that sounds like some scary handling *L* like trying to drive a full size delivery van like a car... If your shocks are shot I'd go the route lightshow suggested...
