so today i was driving to work and i was plugging in my phone awhle driving and my car kind went a little to the right and the front wheel scraped the scratching the tire and the rim. is there anything i can do, short of getting new rim to say make it look smooth again? <not the tire but the rim

if it's an aluminum rim without a clear coat or a steel rim you may be able to have a shop smooth it out or fill it or something.... if it's painted you could have it sanded down just a tiny bit then re-paint it to help "cover it"

I've heard of using aluminum foil to clean the rims. I have never done it but maybe you could try it on a small area of your rim and report your findings.

More than likely you also bent your rim. Take your car to a tire shop and have them rebalance that wheel to see if it's still straight, if it is you will save a tire and an alignment which is what it might end up needing!
