Default need advise on tires

I currently have a set of Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus XSE P205/65VR15. Two tires are worn out and need to be replaced. Will it be okay if I replace the two tires with another type or brand of tires instead of the original tires?

Is it recommended to get the same load index and speed ratings as the OE tires? Most of the recommended tires on tirerack.com and other online tire stores show other service description instead of the OE tires, which is 92V.

What would be a recommended substitute for the original tires without going over $100+ per tire?

as a rule, you never want to downgrade the tire specs from the OE stuff. If you find a set of tires from another manufacturer that meet the specs, you should be fine. 92V tires should still be OK since the speed rating is the same. 92 tires will have more side wall than the 65's. Stick with a name brand , keep the ratings the same and you can't go wrong.

I'd agree with mbo... my personal opinion on tires if you're looking for something good everyday use and cheap would be Falken Ziex... nice tires, good price and great all around ratings... If you're looking to do race and want something with more grip go to the Falken Azenis... just be sure if you're only replacing two tires to get your tires rotated with your next oil change (after about 3000 miles) so you get a nice even tire wear..

When I bought my accord there were some crappy General tires on it. The tires would squeel around any turn at any speed 5 mph or more. They didn't even have a speed rating on them. Never ever cut corners when shopping for tires!

I am with nasty. I replaced my Michelin Pilots with Falken Ziex (I have 17" Honda spokes on my 03 Accord) and have been happy as a clam, while saving many clams in the process. After 50K miles, I am ready to buy my second set of Falkens.
