New tires for 05 4cyl LX - going to 16" (unusual)

I like the steelies, but want bigger rubber.
I have some 04 LX V6 steel wheels and covers

Would 215/55-16 be an appropriate size? The wheels are 16 x 6.5"

Stock size is 205/65-15 Michelin MXV4. They wear like iron and stick like paper on a tile floor.
