Tire Suggestions for my 03' Accord
Hey guys,
New to the board and was wondering what tires work well on these cars. Right now I have Pirelli's (215/45/R18's) needing replacement and they are fitted on O.Z. Rally Palladio wheels (18X8). The specs on the wheels are...
Offset: 45mm
Backspacing: 6.30"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114
Rec. Tire Size:215/45-18
Weight: 25.1lbs.
I was at my tire place today and they suggested either:
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...=GAAINT&cs=225
or
http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...=GAAINT&cs=225
First question would be, any opinions on these tires (plus any other options that ya'll have liked) and also would running a 225/40 be alright instead of the current 215/45's that I currently have? The guy told me a 225 or 235 would be options, but I see on my wheel specs 215 is the recommended size. Will I be alright going wider? Was wondering because the 215 doesn't offer me many tire options (I guess due to the size) and also something a tad wider would be nice. What is the widest I can go on these wheels/without rubbing? Thanks!

you might even be able to go up to 245/30/18. Thats what I am goin to do. I have the same size wheel. In any case the second one is the better tire. But in my opinion (i recommend this tire to everyone) the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 is THE best out there. They are oem on Porsche GT2s and GT3s and on the 1001 hp Bugatti Veyron. for the 245/30/18 size they run about 293 for rf and 280 for non rf.

How do you figure the sidewall thickness? I was wondering because I don't want anything that will lower the car too much, since it's already pretty low with the bodykit setup. The tire guy told me a 235/40 vs. the 215/45's on now wouldn't lower the car much, so wanted some help on that. Also, would the tires start to stick out of the side some if going with a 235 or 245 (wondering is a 225 might be a good compromise)?

Hi, I checked a website called rims-n-tires.com and if you want, you could go to 225/45/18 and it would be a direct fit for the 2003 Accord. The side wall height would remain the same so you hopefully dont scrape the ground. I am sure there are other options, but this one should work as a direct fit option. If you decide to keep a 45 tirewall height they dont recommend going any wider than 225. Check out the website.
