Hi Honda_Dude;
How's your evening going..
The tires that wear out in the center is caused by over inflation of the tires..under inflated tires wear out on the edges of the tires..
Hope this answers your questions for you!

my evening is like anyother evening, how bout urs??
Over inflation, you mean, too much air?? does the alignment or the balance or tire rotation has anything to do with the problem. FYI, the tires are Firestone Destination LE. It says the treadwear is 480 or 460 (around that #) , isn't that suppose last long?

** this a pic of the tires.If you look close, there is 5 lines or track, watever you call it. Only the middle one (3rd section) is worn out, almost bold. only one tire.

I'll concur on the too much air and expand on that answer.... if it were an alignment issue or camber issue it'd wear the inside or outside only, to little air and it's going to wear the outside evenly and no the middle.... Also, the reason it may only be one tire is because on those trucks it's not a locked differential so one tire is going to spin more frequently than the other, that tire is probably the one that recieves the power intially so it's going to wear first, that's also the reason that roatating your tires on older vehicles is more important than newer cars....
