Default '92 Speedometer problem

I have already replaced the speedsensor on the car, and that is not the problem. Since I have already replaced the sensor, what is the next that I need to checked.

Welcome!

Does your check-engine light come on?

If the speed sensor were bad, the check-engine light would come on. If it didn't, then it's probably a bad speedometer (in the cluster), or maybe the wiring connections that plug into the cluster.

Yes after a few minutes the light does come on. Also, a quick history, I originally replaced the sensor last November. It worked until about Jan or Feb of this year, then it stopped again, I replaced the sensor and it still didn't work. The problem code that the computer says is the speedsensor.

The computer can't tell the difference between a bad sensor vs. bad wiring for the sensor. Since a new sensor didn't really fix it, maybe it's a wiring problem.

Easy stuff would be corroded or loose wiring plugs down there by the sensor? For 92 I'm not sure where else in the harness that circuit goes through any other plugs. Finally (and more difficult to find) the wiring could be broken anywhere along the harness.
