Default Sideview Mirror Tightening

I am having a problem that my driver's sideview mirror is loose where it folds in. The power function is working fine and a dealer told me it had to be comletely replaced but I have alot of doubts about this. It seems that you should just be able to tighten up the mechanism so it sits tighter. Any advice???

Welcome to HAF.........sorry to inform you that in this occasion the dealer might be correct, you might have to replace the mirror assembly......
If you look up from the bottom of the mirror there are 2 holes, use a phillip screwdriver and see if the screws are loose,, if not , it is mirror time

Is there a safe way to pop off the 1"X3" access plate under the mirror assembly to get at the screws?
