This isn't a question, but just another method for cleaning you light covers/lenses.

I came up with this method while sitting and thinking scientifically, I guess. I knew that a weaker acid would tear away the WEAKER grime and not harm the plastic if the plastic wasn't left in the acid too long. I just needed to test it and actually find a weak acid.

I went outside, took off the license plate light covers. They were exceptionally dirty. I came inside, washed the loose stuff off with a little hot water and soap, and then mixed 1/2c of distilled diluted white vinegar with 2/3c of water. I soaked the light covers in the water for 25 minutes. Here's what they currently look like. (Sorry, forgot to take a picture of them when I first took them off of the car.)

Thought it would help since it seems to have been the quickest and most reliable method I've tried so far. Also, I assume if you want to do it quicker that you don't have to dilute the vinegar or at least not as much. I was just being on the safe side.
