HIDS melting headlight housing

so i heard having a super high temp hid like 10000k+ will melt your stock headlight housing(made of plastic) idk if anyone else has heard about this, is it true? im considering 10000k cuz my brother has 8000k and i dont want to copy him, and i really like the deep blue :P

The numbers refer to colour temprature, measured in kelvin, not how hot they get.

Your head lights will be fine.

anything over 6000k dont put out as much light.

No offense, but any hid that is a deep blue or purple is just ugly in my opinion.

exactly.
10,000k = 17,540 degrees farenheit or 9,727 degrees centigrade
i believe steel melts at 2700 degrees or so
