Default new hood

So....I have a dented hood its about a foot across and 4 inches high. dead on the front of the hood - and its bent up, only to where it chipped didnt dent all the way across.

Basically i was wondering weather I should try and find a cheap black hood (my cars black and i dont wanna have to re-paint a hood)

Or if i should buy a carbon fiber hood, knock off a few pounds while im at it?

Buy a custom carbon fiber hood in case you decide to custm out your car, this way you wont have to ask that ?? again later

I don't think you are going to be able to get a carbon fiber hood for too cheap, but you never know. Search around on the internet but beware of shady sellers. Also remember if you go with the carbon fiber hood you should remove the hood lifts on the sides of the hood that hold it up. Those things could dent the carbon fiber or even eventually blow right through it.

I have a carbon fiber hood on my accord that the previous owner had installed. It is light weight and the receipt says $350 plus shipping.

He also installed racing pins and the hood lifts were removed. I have a pic of it but I don't know if its clear.

Carbon Fiber Hood is really lightweight so if you have it open be careful the wind doesn't push it back. It does look nice though. I'm not sure how it will look on a black car though.

If your car is a daily driver i wouldnt recommend a CF hood. The weather will likely make it fade, etc. Just buy an aftermarket hood with some kind of scoop on it.... I spent over $600 on my hood so its not even gonna come close to rain, sleet, snow, etc...

even if you find a black hood, chances are it wont match your car as they will have faded differently and such, i say just spend the money and get a good CF hood.
