PAINT ON HOOD FADING

Default PAINT ON HOOD FADING

MY 2001 ACCORD (BLACK) SEEMS TO BE FADING ON THE HOOD. THE DETAIL SHOP TOLD ME THIS WAS DUE TO THE ENGINE HEAT. ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS PROBLEM?

no it isnt because of engine heat...black is hard to keep up, the clear peels up real easy if you dont wax it often. your air dam, your hood and the spot right in front of your moonroof needs to be waxed at least once a month... its prolly 600 to repaint and its about 500 for a carbon fiber hood from VIS.....get the CF

not got that problem with the hood but my windshield wiper arms are always pealing and cracking in the paint and i don't know why?

I think so too.
Its not because of engine heat, but due to differential heating.
By any chance, is your car exposed to direct heat and then sudden cooling ?
You might wanna note that.
The same reason applies to your wiper arms.
And as FLOMASTA said, I would wax my car ATLEAST once in 10 weeks max.
