Up until 4 months ago, my car radio was working great. It's been housed in a garage, but one long weekend, I left it outside. It rained alot that weekend.

Ever since that weekend, the radio has been shutting off by itself, while driving. Wait a few minutes..... turn the radio back on. And it seems to work ok. (side note: It seemed to happen more often during damp/rainy weather).

Fast forward to this week, it seemed to shut off for good. The radio display still works; and it looks like it is on...... but no sound coming from the speakers. And the cd seems to operate. But no sound from cd either.

Any ideas? I can't stand driving without music!! And I drive alot!!

 

There is a sticky here somewhere for the 03 radios that crap out.I'll see if I can find it for you.

EDIT:

Call 1-800-999-1009 and mention bulletin #04-027. They will ask what dealership you're going to take your car to, and have a representative from that dealership call you within 48 hours to set up an appointment.

Here is a new twist.

Today the radio worked perfectly. Of course, today I didn't drive the car as much as I normally do..... usually in a commute for an hour or so. And at some point during that commute, the radio shuts off. And I wait a minute or so..... and I turn it back on. And it works fine.

As a side note, the weather was dry today. Making me crazy.

 

Now it's making me suspect a bad antenna connection or ground.
