Default 2001 Coupe horn problem after airbag replacement due to recall

Hello, I took my '01 Accord Coupe in to replace the airbag as per a recall notice. Unfortunately the top left portion (in fact, the entire left part of the steering wheel) no longer properly activates the horn, as a firm push simply chirps the horn. The right side is fine. The mechanic took the assembly apart and put it back together multiple times to no avail. I'm a bit frustrated and don't want to end up having them take everything apart as I am starting to question their competence - especially with the car being off-warrantee. Any advice? Many thanks in advance!

Since one side switch works fine to actuate horn, the fault must lie w/ the horn switch which only produces a chirp.

I'm puzzled as this should be obvious to even a neophyte mechanic.

good luck

i'd find a better dealership. i agree it sounds like it's in the actual switch, which makes sense since they were messing with that. maybe they broke off a part in the actual cap that engaged the switch?
