As I previously mentioned, when I use Aha or Pandora via my HTC One with BeatsAudio, the sound is significantly better than all other sources or with it off. This leads me back to the amplifier or software / firmware being the culprit of the lousy sounding audio. I sent an email with this information to Honda stating I was willing to demonstrate this.

Today I received a call from the same guy, Reggie, at Honda saying that the audio system is functioning as designed and that there are no known software issues with the system at this time. I took what he said that Honda is not working on any further solutions to the audio system sound quality issue or otherwise at this time.

I am curious to see when the 2014 model comes out if there will be any improvement. Additionally, like I mentioned, the amplifier unit for the Coupe model with Navi shows discontinued. I think if and when the 2014 model comes out and there is a new part number, I am going to demand they replace my amp with that one.

Default Phone Pairing issues in 2013 Accord EXL

When I got my Accord in October of 2013 the hands free feature paired immediately with my older (but still on the list of approved devices) Samsung T959V and it worked flawlessly for about 6 weeks and then stopped. I complained to TMobile and my salesman at the dealer. Both pointed the finger at the other. Then I got a notice of a software update to fix Bluetooth/Nav issues. I took it in and had the update done. Phone paired immediately and worked great for 4 days and then stopped. I took it back in last night and they reinstalled the update and it still doesn't work. Do I need a new phone and if so, what? Or is it still the car? I am so annoyed because I could have gotten a functioning bluetooth hands free system on the Ford I was looking at before I bought the HOnda! Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have been told by Honda Canada that there is a known problem with Samsung smartphones and even if they do work, it may be only for a short period of time and that they do not know why it won't work all the time. They are working on a program fix.

I don't know what your problem is but mine (on a Galaxy S3) related to the phonebook. I had to upgrade to a Galaxy Note 2 and once I downloaded the Phonebook App from Google Play, everything started working fine. Here is the link to the app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...JzYXAuaXJtYyJd

It cost under $2. There is also a test that will only work the first time you pair the phone but it will give you an idea if it will work for you. Here is the link to the TEST app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...aXJtY3Rlc3QiXQ..

NOTE: when I installed this real program, I lost access to listening to text messages via Bluetooth.

Hope this helps...

Thank you so much for your reply-it is very helpful! I haven't purchased a phone yet but find myself wondering if I should just go with the Iphone. I prefer the Droid OS but I really want to be able to use the hands free feature in the car.

I just got off the phone with Honda America. I have had the software update twice and my phone will work ok for several weeks then it goes back to, will not upload my address book, will not upload my call history, the phone and blu-tooth lock up and the phone will not work till I power it off and back on, same for the blu-tooth. I have a Verizon razor. Honda is suppose to have a case manager call me back.

I just bought a new 2013 EX. I have an AT&T i777 (the AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S2). Upon connecting the phone vie BT, only few and random names from my phone book will be imported to the car. Call history is transferred without a problem.
My phone is running a custom ROM so I decided to flash the phone and try a different ROM, and sure enough with the new ROM (which I don't particularly like) the phone book was imported completely.
My wife has the international version of the S2, using the stock ROM, and her phone book is being imported without an issue.

Pretty annoying, I must say.

Let's face it - the damn system sucks and Honda can't fix it. I've had my car for a few months now and love it as an automobile. Sometimes the phone works great, others like this morning, it couldn't find my phonebook. I've just given up and accepted it as the quirky MF it is.

I was able to fix my stereo with the simple application of money. I shouldn't have had to do it as I paid for premium, but I like my sounds.

This whole situation is so unlike Honda and I'm very disappointed that they a) released a car like this, and b) can't seem to fix it. That being said, I'm not going to dump the car and I can't stand being constantly aggravated by its quirks, so I've just learned to live with it.

Good luck to everyone else.

I just bought the new Samsung Galaxy S4 and it works great. Connected the first time with no issue and has worked flawlessly ever since except for importing contacts and phonebook. I am going to try the links that were mentioned earlier in this thread to see if that resolves the issue. I do agree though that Honda fell short of the mark here. The stereo is sub par but I am living with it for now. I am glad I found this forum.

Default Galaxy Phone Problems

I had the same problem with an S3 and had to upgrade to the Note 2 (S4 was not available at the time). Without access to the phonebook, you are missing a lot of the functions. The phonebook gives you access to easier speed dial/voice tags, tells you the name of who is calling if that person is in your phonebook; shows the picture of the incoming caller (if you have put a picture in your phonebook) and gives you access to all your phonebook numbers from the car's display without having to dig out your phone.

The $2 Bluetooth Phonebook application from Google Play solved these issues for me.

Saying the stereo is sub par is correct.

I'm really struggling with how to address it. The thought of having to spend money to upgrade a "premium sound system" just pisses me off. But trading the car off or selling it isn't a good option either. I'm just glad my wife drives it most of the time so I'm not constantly reminded how bad it sounds.
At least my F-150 has an excellent system.

But, going on vacation in a month which is a 12 hour drive. Taking the Honda instead of my truck would gain me about 10 mpg's. But, can I stand the bad sound for that long?

Btw, I like most on here have given up on the idea Honda will fix this, as well as all the phone issues people are having.
