Recently my '04 accord lost it's illumination display for the radio & HVAC controls. To be correct, it is almost lost all the time while occasionally the lighting will come back on again for a short time then go out again. Has anyone else seen this problem before and know an easy fix. I did a search on this issue elsewhere and found a Honda service bulletin #04-027 that describes this as well but since mine seems to come and go, I'm figuring it to be less complicated. I'm sure I'm just wrong about that but I'm hopeful. Thanks.

 

it is a defect. mine was covered under waranty in my 03 accord.

 

Thanks. That's what I thought but was remaining optimistic that it may be something else.

 

I am having the same problem. I just purchased a 2009 Accord and the backlights on the HVAC display are dark. I was hoping this is covered under a warranty. I did some searching on here just to see if anyone else had the same problem. Looks like it continued even in the later models.
