Front Speakers
My Haynes manual says to install new speakers in the front I just removea screw under the grill, then pry the grille off and the speaker will be revealed, I always heard you had to take off the entire door panel. Which is it?

RE: Front Speakers
My Haynes manual said the same thing - I found out it was wrong by taking off the door panel (the grill is screwed into the door panel from the back, or at least that's the way my '91 Accord is set up) - also, make sure you take the panel off and check the size of the existing speakersbefore buying replacements; most of the guides told me there were 6 1/2 inchers in the front doors, but the actual baffles are sized for 5 1/4's -in my case, the car's previous owner had jury-rigged mine with 3X5 ovals jammed in sideways, which really sounded terrible - I put in 5 1/4" MB Quart coaxials which really improved the sound - needed to cut a piece out of the factory baffles to make the magnets fit though.

RE: Front Speakers
Yeah its the whole door panel.
When you buy new speakers make sure they are not to deep like others suggested. Hondas usually require speakers that are more slim, otherwise the window will not be able to go down all the way. It was a pain installing speakers in my 97. The Lightning Audio box said it would fit my exact car but I had to do alot of hodge podge stuff instead of a simple removal and insertion.
I did a write up on it, if you use the search for Tutorial Door Speakers or removing door speakers youll find it
