im noticing this slight dimming mostly on the interior lights though, and in the gauges, clock, etc.

Yeah all those lights are halogens, not just your headlights. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure the gauge lights are also halogen in the 6th gen. I think only the 7th gen has LEDs. All the LED lights I changed are interior lights. Map lights, dome light, mirror lights, foot well lights and the door light all swapped to LEDs. You can buy pre-made bulbs, I just made my own as I wanted exactly 8000k leds.

A good rule of thumb is don't listen to any friends. Will a cap make the dimming go away? Yes. Is it the right thing to do? No. A cap is only going to increase your current draw on your alternator and battery, and comes with it owns set of problems and frustrations. The solution to dimming is not a cap, it's LEDs and HIDs really. Caps ARE only necessary in high current applications, where the alternator and battery simply can not supply the amps with the current they demand at times. Your not even close to scratching that line.

Yea!!!! A topic to disagree on!!!! With the car off, a cap won't do anything, but with it on, it will spread out the current draw to lower the peak draw spikes. A cap will only cause an additional draw on your charging system when it is dead and needs to be replaced.

What I was told is after the cap discharges somewhat to feed the amps there is a current surge to the cap afterwords. Now a small cap is not bad, but everyone is trying to install 2farads and more. Even 1 farad is A LOT of energy. I really don't know much about caps so I can only go by what I've been told. The way I look at it is the caps are really only to stop dimming on smaller systems, and there are better solutions than that. I don't think the voltage drops are significant enough for a noticeable difference in sound, to the ear of course. Now a big system will many amps a cap is defianlty necessary to keep the voltage up.
