CVR is a good sub for the money, but there are so many options out there.

look into Resonant Engineering

what is your budget?

are you looking for loud SPL bass or punchy (tight) and accurate bass?

how low ya wanna go?

SPL is sound pressure level, and refers directly to the maximum dBs you can get out of the sub. A sub can be very loud, but can sound very muddy with fast paced bass. A sub usually thought of as being a SPL or SQ sub. SPL means its is very good at getting very loud, SQ means it is a very clean sounding sub that may not be the loudest but sounds great. Sounds to me like you are looking for an SQ sub. Any JL sub is a SQ sub, kickers tend to be SPL subs. Kicker and JL are probably what you should look for being in in AU. They are the biggest and best mass produced subs, and well priced for the quality.

He already got his setup. He is in Australia so his selection was very limited, and the prices are through the roof on imported stuff. A W1 is a nice sub for some filler bass. It doesn't get very loud but is nice and clean.
