Default USB Drives

I have a 2011 Accord Coupe and it has a USB connector for memory sticks. The manual says do NOT use a usb hard drive. It says something fuzzy about damaging files, (THAT should not be problem as you should not be using the original files anyway). Granted, if an HD was used, it may take to long to get everything started. But, does anyone know what the issue is with USB hds?? After all, some are designed to be used with laptops so they minimize their power usage. I could not care less if a "few" files got corrupted since I can always wipe the drive and reload..............

Thanks,
John Waller

the external USB hard drive requires too much power, more than the vehicle will supply. this is common with many factory and aftermarket USB connections. stick with the memory sticks - 64GB and 128GB are available now.
