Default Fabric cleaning

Hello all, This weekend we just purchased an accord (04 ex-l 4cyl) and the outside is great however the inside looks like they had children and there are marks on the fabric a lot of places. I have already purchased some leather cleaner (Lexol) to take care of that however was wondering what the preffered product would be to cleanup the cloth (most like on the back head rests to the left and right, also where the front side air bags are in the front of the car, a little on the hood liner etc).

Thanks for any help

One of the best ways to clean it (depending on what it looks like the stain is from) is to rent a steam cleaner/extractor and try to basically shampoo it.

hmm, I have a carpet cleaning (like one of this bissel big green whatevers) you think that would do the trick? Just kind of worried don't want to mess anything up. Thanks again

That should work, you may want to use some soap and a scrub brush or washcloth to pre clean the stains then use the carpet cleaner. always try a little test spot first to make sure that your cleaning agent won't discolour anything. I typically just use a high dilution of dawn dish soap and water with a toothbrush if I don't have a true fabric cleaner on hand

Thanks a lot for the very informative and useful response. On a side note lets say that the fabric is just too far gone are these things that can be replaced easily or purchased from thedealer?. Like the one that bugs me the most is the passenger front panel to the right of the windshield (where the airbag is or at least theres a logo saying airbag). Like is that replaceable or is it going to be the whole airbag and everything? Thanksagain

The airbag cover should be replaceable on it's own without removing or messing with the airbag itself. I'd try hondaautomtiveparts.com or a local dealer to locate a replacement. You could also try a scrap yard such as www.spaldings.com Make certain that the airbags have never deployed, if they have it could be the subject of a recall (the cover that is). A carfax should give you this information
