Dealer says my front engine mount is cracked; had a side one replaced a year ago while I still had my 100K Hondacare warranty intact, but I am 20K beyond that limit and dealer says the price to install a new mount is over $500.

Have seen mixed reviews for using non-Honda mounts and $500 seems a bit high for this part replacement -- any suggestions for a cheaper solution that does not involve vastly inferior parts or installation?

 

Check ebay for "2005 accord v6 front mount". I saw one for $138, and Majestic Honda part was only a bit more but watch those shipping charges.

Replacing this is no walk in the park and cost may reflect substantial labor. Suggest asking some good honda/acura independents how much to install your part.
