1988 Honda Accord DX doesn't start
I have been having this issue with my car for a month now. All electrical components turn on such as lights and radio. When I go to start my car, the starter motor cranks the engine however I don't get a strong enough spark to start combustion. I've replaced the Distributor, ICM, and the Ignition coil but nothing seems to solve the issue. We tested to see if we have anything coming out of the ignition coil by get a ground cable near the cable connection that goes to the distributor and we got a single weak spark when we initially start the car but nothing after constant cranking. Is there anything else that I should be looking at?
Hello,
I am just going to assume you also changed out the spark plugs as well or at least tested them somehow, and as always never forget to check the fuses/relays as its always a cheaper replacement. Another couple of things I would check (for free at AutoZone or O'Reilly's) is the battery and alternator. Make sure your battery has the right voltage for your car as well. Also keep in mind that it may be a fuel issue rather than a spark..
