Default 94 Accord with f22b1 swap

I recently purchased my first Honda. Its a 94 coupe automatic.. It originally had a non vtech engine but the previous owner swapped it for an f22b1(I got it for a steal). It starts and runs, but idles around 2500 rpm.. When you loosen some tension on the throttle cable the Rpms will come down and idle just fine, until you put it in gear. It loses power and dies. I've gotten mixed answers.. Is it the wiring harness or the dizzy?

Now you know why it was such a "steal".

Throttle cable should have just a bit of slack, 10-12 mm at the throttle linkage.

Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) may need to be removed and cleaned (intake screen, movement, and ports). Also clean throttle plate on both sides. Use throttle body cleaner.

Idle speed is managed by computer using IACV. You may need to adjust base idle by disconnecting IACV (check engine light will come on), and adjusting the air bleed screw (TDC of throttle body entrance) to achieve 550 +/- 50 rpms. Reconnect IACV and reset ECU by pulling BackUp fuse for 20 secs.

good luck

Thank you for the advice. I'll definitely try those. I just couldn't pass it up.. The wheels and tires alone are worth what I paid for the whole car.. I considered it a plus it ran at all. I'll be even more impressed if it can be a daily driver with a simple fix.. But I'm not holding my breath
