Default 95 accord ex tranny dead?

hi,
I recently swapped in a used engine into a 95 honda Accord EX. the tranny and car have around 210,000 miles. I drove it for about a month and now the transmission seemed to have crapped out on me.

When i start the car after its been sitting for awhile (1-2 hours) I can drive it maybe 100 feet or so before forward progress stops. It shifts fine and then all of sudden completely gives out on me. I towed the car away, there is new fluid in there from the swap.

Is there any way the flex plate or converter could have been installed incorrectly? Could the tranny be overheated? thats why it works intermittently like it does? Im really stumped on this one, ive never heard of a tranny coming back to life like this

just to be clear, ive put a few hundred miles on it already and it ran perfect no problems whatsoever, could it be something small?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I'm assuming this is a slush box right?..
What type of fluid did you put in when swapped? If it wasn’t honda ATF they that’s most likely your prob. Honda trans don't like anything but the honda fluid they seem to just not want to work properly. Iv been there done that..not fun and expansive.

I guess i could try that, but if it was the fluid wouldnt it start showing symptoms immediately? I drove it for a good month before this problem showed up

you also could have crap in the fluid. do a drain and fill and see how much stuff comes out. DO NOT HAVE IT POWER FLUSHED. drain and fill only

it also could be a sticking selniod. You have to sets of solenoids that change your gears. They are located on the front on the trans they look like 2 sets of 2 1in tall cylinders. You can test for them to see if they are bad or not that can cause the trans to act this way too. There should be a DIY write up on how to test your solenoids..go search around the DIY area for bit and look for it.
