Default 98 accord ex high rpm's in seconds

ive been driving my accord for a while and 2 days ago i started to realized a problem. When i put it in 3rd gear and push the gas pedal 3/4 way in, the rpms go up like crazy and 4th gear.. same thing, 5th going at 80km still get high revs .. tried 5th at 60km same thing .. so now i have to push the gas in 1/4 way just to avoid the high revs. what's wrong? help would be GREATLY appreciated.

probably not just 3rd 4th and 5th ,i just dont stay in 1st or 2nd too long.

I think the RPMs are supposed to go up when you push the gas pedal in? I don't really understand the question... Can you explain exactly how you go about driving and changing gears? I'm assuming its a manual transmission. Please put your model/engine/tranny/trim in your signature so we can help you easier.

Sounds like your clutch has started slipping. It'll just get worse, so start saving for a new clutch & labor.

1998 Accord EX 2dr 5spd F23A1-stock engine, stock tranny

my story in more detail

get into my car
start car
warm up
shift into 1st
going down street at 30km,2.5k rpm ,shift into 2nd
exitto a larger street(empty & long)
get to4000rpm shift to3rd
gas in3/4 way andneedle jumps to redline
shift to 4th
only going at 80km w/pedal in 3/4 redlined
go to 5th 80km add gas 3/4 way 100kmph redlined..i think to myself "what the hell is going on" and pull over
restart engine and try something else
get into 1st gear 3000rpm shift to 2nd,3500 rpm shift to 4th not 3rd andgas pedal pushed 3/4 , redlined.
stopped the car in the middle of the road , started from 1st then2nd went to3rd,5000rpm shifted to 5th and slowly added gas , doing ok.. climbing to 110km(5th gear anddoing 3000rpm) i floor it andit goes to redline only at 115-120km , i've made 180 ,no problem. now if i floor it the rpms just goto redlineinsteadof gradually gettingthere like it used to

ill try and make a video

It REALLY sounds like your clutch is worn out & slipping. If that's it, changing your MTF won't help at all.

You'll just waste MTF since you'll drain it AGAIN when you remove the tranny.

I vote slipping clutch too. I can't think of anything else it could possibly be. Changing MTF won't help. Just try to baby it until you can afford a new clutch.
