Default Accord has Died - Need Help

My son's 94 Accord died the other night. He said it was making a funny sound so he pulled over and turned it off. He told me after he shut it down, it was making a "clicking" noise under the hood. When I got there, it smelled like wires burning. Now, I can't even get the car to turn over. What's the best way to troubleshoot the electrical system? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

By any chance, does he have any subs in the back?

No Subs - I think it shut down on low oil pressure. I'm trying to find a reset so that it will crank. I've dis-connected the battery hoping that would reset the computer but no luck so far.
