After 4 months, car won’t jump start
I haven’t been able to get to me 2007 accord in 4 months. The battery was totally dead so I called AAA. They couldn’t get it jumped with 2 jump boxes. I can hear the engine turning over but it doesn’t ignite the fuel (I think). AAA said it isn’t the starter but it could be the fuel pump, spark plugs, fuel injectors… I would put in those fuel system cleaning additives but if the car won’t start how can they clean the fuel system? Now I’m wondering if I can clean the fuel pump or it it needs to be replaced. Can I remove the gas in the tank and put in fresh gas? Will that help? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.
When you turn the key on can you hear the fuel pump click on hum or make an electric noise and then click off? If you need to have someone listen under the car when you turn the key to on to listen for it near the tank. If there's no sound or weak it could be dead pump. If that's okay then depending on what engine it has it could be a failed crank sensor or something in timing. If you think the fuel pump is dead you can spray some starting fluid into the throttle body and try and start it. If it tries to run on starting fluid than its definitely fuel related like a bad fuel pump, fuse, or relay. If it doesn't try to run on starting fluid it's either ignition, electrical, or timing related. What engine does your 2007 have? 4 cylinder or the big V6?
it is a V4. I replaced the battery and the first time I tried to start it the car almost started, but couldn't quite get the engine firing. Then, 10 minutes later, I tried again and the battery was totally dead. I turned the key and nothing happened. What could cause that and could that be the same faulty part causing the car's inability to turn on?
