RE: check engine
I have code P1491 & P0171 per the check at autozone. I have a 96 honda accord ex, 4cylinder, 4 door. I had a new fuel filter and pump put on ( as that was suggested) and also made sure the gas cap was on correctly and the check engine light is still on. Is there a sure way of knowing what needs to be replaced before I just start replacing things that don't need to be replaced?

2nd, try using the search function on this website.
I found this thread with little effort: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/m_47326/tm.htm
P0171 is a "system too lean" code from what I just researched.
