maybe you were using DOT5 fluid and the seals started to release its color and it's making the fluid dark(?)

I did flush it, and I'm pretty sure I put DOT4 in to replace it. Maybe it's some sort of lining from the new master cylinder that's discoloring the fluid... I don't know haha. I still haven't had time to change it, but today had one of the worst pedal feels It's had in awhile... Hopefully I can get to it this week.

Don't just go around driving a car w/ bad bakes. Let us know what happens when you change the fluid. Do you have a vacuum pump? Could be useful. Good luck

Kevin, it's about clutch not brakes. But yeah, don't go driving around with bad brakes either. Especially if you're behind me.

Haha, thanks for your concern about brakes. I changed the fluid, and now the pedal feels much more consistent. I still don't know what caused the discoloring, but I guess I'll just keep an eye on it in the future. I guess if I have to bleed it once every 6 months it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Who knows; it might be something unique like getting water in there? Absolutely keep an eye on it, but I bet you won't have to keep doing that EVERY 6 months.

Deteriorating rubber hose in the clutch hydraulic system?
