Fun with my laptop- getting to know my cars ECU
So I'm really getting interested in ECU tuning and Diagnosis. I've been reading up a lot on the subject but I cant find anything on OBD2 to 1 conversion and tuning associated with it. I want to buy an OBD2 cable and some software to get a better look at my car.
Anyone recommend any good software at low of free cost? My cars having issues with a surging from open to closed loop and I think this could save some money.
At the same time I wanna be able to hook up my p28 chipped ecu and get some readings from my cars performance once this problem is fixed.
Can I use an OBD1 diagnosis program on my computer with an OBD2 cable hooked up since my car doesn't have an OBD1 port for the p28?
Also, anyone have a 97 Accord F22B1 bin file? I can only find 95 and older. I wanna see in crome what it looks like stock and then some recommendations for what I should have it tuned to with the bolt on mods I have.
Thanks

you will need to get a obd2 to obd1 conversion harness. Then you will need to get your p28 chipped with a tuning softer ware like crome. A 94-97 accord ecus are the same since the engines are the same as well. The only difference is 94 is obd1 and 95-97 ecus are obd2.
Tuning your car is not easy and take a lot of time to learn. Also very easy to mess up your base map and cause damage to your engine (exp.- running to lean and frying your piston rings and or blowing your engine)
