Lightbulb h22a head swap.. f20??

Is it possible or pointless to swap my SOHC h22a head to a f20 b1 or b2 DOHC Vtec...?

If so will it produce some HP?

More importantly is it possible?

Um did you get the engine codes mixed up?

H22a is a DOHC VTEC engine.

F20s(aside from the f20b) were european and japanese fuel economy engines that were never offered in America.

If you mean putting an h22 head on an f22, its possible, but requires some machining and acquiring a bit of parts and doesn't make too much more power.

Yea I meant f22 not h... But seems h22 motor swap may be quicker way for more power... Unless u sir can teach me from afar to nitrate my f22 LOL... I prefer the sohc. I enjoy the f22... For a beginner like me I'd think its easier to learn on...

you can put a h22 head on a f22 block. But there is a good bit of modification that is needed. If not done right it will be a disaster.
f22 engines are stout and full of potential...if you have the money to throw at them. h22 swap is a better platform to start with since it has a higher hp rating and it was a race inspired engine.

An H22 swap is pretty easy, and will make your car decently quick. However, at least with my experience with H22s, they aren't too reliable, and getting any major power over stock will require a lot of work.

If I could start over with my car I would have just turboed my stock engine. It would cost about as much as an H22 swap, make more power, and be more reliable.

I wanna toss some money at my f22... It's an auto tho... Outside of simple intake, headers and exhaust... But what needs done to an f22 to turbo? I don't imagine its as easy as bolt on manifold, turbo and pipe it.. oil cooler etc... Computer? Injectors??? Would it have to have an intercooler if only 6-9lbs of boost? I need a manual for serious work.. that's coming tho.. need to play with the auto first.

All the info is out there at your fingertips on boosting accords. You just have to search for it. I suggest doing a lot of research be4 doing anything. Boosting auto trans is out of the question. They can't take the amount of tq the engine will produce. So you will need to do a 5speed swap if you want to turbo.

Now just doing simple bolt ons the auto can handle. The honda auto trans are known for getting weak after adding more power over stock. The 5speed trans are pretty stout.

yea.. i figured turbo with an a/t would be a waste... but wanted to do it to learn. I plan on getting a M/t and def putting a turbo on it, eventually. Its hard in an apartment.

There is still a lot im learning, and its addicting... "Eric the car guy" on youtube is filling my head with knowledge with some pretty good videos... makes a lot of stuff look really easy...

Here in fredericksburg at the pick a part there must be over 100 accords sitting... half of them are M/T. I could prolly get one for cheap but I dont think I want to mess with a good thing. My a/t accord is my money maker daily driver and gets me around 30mpg.. If I hadnt just bought this damn eclipse id of bought a 5sp accord. Just didnt wanna pass up eclipse!

Im glad ya'll are here... a year ago ya'll helped me get this accord running, diagnosing my stall, and no start issue.. (icm in distributor)... so im grateful to know I can ask anything or search it, and find tons of info!
