Default How much should I advance the timing on my F22B1?

I just installed an adjustable cam gear on my 94 accord with the f22B1. How far should I advance it for optimal power and what kind of an increase should I see?

why do you want to advance the timing? its not going to do much and probably just destroy your motor down the road. the only reason i would use those gears are if you have a built motor, forced induction, or are running a NOS. then you can retard for boost or nitrous, or advance on the built motor, etc.

is it a good brand like aem or bisimoto?

I just need fast, cheap horsepower. its a race car, not a daily driver and nobody sells aftermarket cams

I dont see a cam gear givin you anymore power then what you have. Also you are way wrong when you say no 1 makes after market cams for f series.
look into bisi's cams...he makes the best aftermarket parts for f series engines

www . bisimoto . net

Looks like he just has re-grinds. Can you recommend anybody else?

most places im aware of that make cams for accords do just regrinds. there is nothing wrong with bisimoto's regrinds. they are great and give really good performance.

bisi is the way to go for f series...plain and simple
If you dont wanna use your cam as a core go to a pick and pull or order a core from bisi.

Which cam should I go with? Stage 2 or 2.3? I'm not boosting the car but I need to get as much power as possible. I stay between 2500 to 5800RPM for the entire race. Also, whats the difference between an H series head and an F series head?

There are 2 h series heads... h22 vtec dohc head and h23 non-vtec dohc head. Both from a 2.2l block. If you want to swap heads I recommend the h23 head swap over the h22 head swap UNLESS you are gettin high compression pistons then go for the h22 vtec head. F series come in vtec and non vtec. SOHC vtec is pointless when you are going for power they are economy engine. ITs not like dohc vtec...sohc vtec kicks in at low RMPs and only your intake valves opened up more when vtec in engaged. Now with DOHC vtec you are more for power at top end. When vtec is engaged on DOHC engine BOTH intake and exhaust valve open up more for the added power. Now f22a1/4/6 are the best f series flowing head. They flow very well and ppl like to play with them alot.
Call and talk to someone at bisi they can answer anything you want for what you are doing.

That is a lot of work....why do you want to adjust your timing anyways?? Are you trying to upgrade a sohc to a dohc??
