Default How to tell if timing belt was changed? 02 EXV6

Hi,

Just picked up an 02 Accord EXV6. Seems to run well and no indicator lights on. Any way for me to tell if timing belt/water pump was changed?

Tranny seems fine for now but sometimes slight delay in between 1st and 2nd gears. I'll change the tranny oil (3 times) soon with Honda ATF fluid.

Also plan on doing a basic tune up in the next couple of weeks so I know things are "fresh".

Thanks,
Jim

You can visually examine the belt, normally if you can still read the writing, it was changed somewhat recently. But if you can't its usually just the safer idea to replace it.

Default How to??

Hi, i have a 00' EXV6 accord and i recently changed my timing belt and water pump at 136,000 miles. The only way that i know how to check the timing belt if it has been changed is take the front cover off and see if it looks new or not. And as for the water pump im not sure how to tell on that. But if you do need to replace the timing belt deffently do the water pump and the timing belt tensioner also.
