Default More Issues

I noticed that my transmission has a delay when I first put it in gear. It is like a 2 second delay then it shifts into gear(it is an Auto.) Another things I notice is that my idle is horrible. It idles at around 300 - 400 RPM and goes lower once the air is turned on. Any ideas?

I also performed a coolant flush on my car this past weekend, but I had a huge issue with getting the drain plug off the back of the engine. Any ideas why this happened.

Regarding the low idle; Did you disconnect the battery at any time?

I had the low idle on my 92, this weekend I cleaned the inside of the throttle body with spray injection cleaner, it took a little work plus had to use a rag and elbow grease. If you do this keep a rag under the throttle body to catch any fluid that comes out of the tb and use a flashlight to make sure its clean, I also cleaned the egr ports, this takes more work and much more expertise. safety glasses and long sleeve shirt a must.

check and clean TPS (throttle position sensor), intake, butter fly valve and ICV (idle control valve). After cleaning disconnect ECU power for at least 1 min and reconnect. start car and let car idle with NO ACCESSORIES ON for 5 mins so it can relearn the idle.

96accord, I was trying to see what you have done in recent past, since disconnecting of the battery erases your computers parameters, therefore you have to allow it to relearn the idle. By no means was I suggesting that disconnecting a battery would solve anything. Do what YeuEm said to do, to let computer relearn. If that doesn't help you've been given other useful procedures by others above. Good luck.
