I just notice when I accel from a stop, my RPM goes to 3000-3500. Especially when the AC is on. Is that normal?

 

I assume you are driving an automatic transmission car.

If you are accelerating hard, that's pretty normal.

If you are accelerating slowly, then that's a little high.

If you are shifting manually, then it's entirely up to you when to shift and at what RPM.

 

its common in hondas.... i had a civic and integra... and when my ac was on it would downshift hard.... its just the car downshifting harder than it should be because autos are supposed to downshift smoothly.

no its when he is braking.... my integra did it alot... it deals with the ac on and how it downshifts... no acura mechanics could even tell me

check the trans fluid bcuz that shouldnt be like that if your using the air it should downshift to a 1000 maximun unless engine is cold
