RE: which one??
are you looking to go new or used? If you really don't care about looks and want to go used, you may be happier with a prelude (4 cyl, but it's a 2 door.. I think the 2001 motor put out 200hp). If you want an accord though, the newer ones put out about 166 hp stock with the 4 cyl.

RE: which one??
accord 4cyl isnt powerful no matter what accord year you looking at, the newer one is 160hp comparing to older one of 145hp, why dont you invest in a v6 accord, 2002 and newer accord put out 240hp or 1998-02 model put out 200hp

How about if i were to say i dont want to go any newer then 98? and still stay 4 cylinder
what year and model would i be able to mod so that i get the greatest hp output?
(what do yall think about the 94-97 ex? with the f22b1?) good... not so good... how are the mods and ratings afterwords?

Yeah, the preludes are very similar to accords, but make a lot more ponies out of their 4 cyl motors. Some have a cool digital dash and stuff. Definetly something to check out. I want to get my hands on one so I can have a daily driver while I play around with my accord.

RE: which one??
I have the 1996 f22b2 (LX no vtec). with the b1 you're looking at 140, 10 more than my stock 130 with the b2 motor. It's an excellent year for the accord. There's just about any mod you can imagine for it, so attainalbe power is only limited to your wallet. I turbo'd mine a few months back and the motor is just strong as heck. It had 140K miles on it and it doesn't even burn a drop of oil. I push it too, so it's not like I'm scared to get it reving. Definetly a great car.
If you want a bit more power, you can go with a short ram and a header - cat - muffler exhaust system. If you want some real power, you can always turbo it. There are plenty of kits out there and you can save thousands by making your own kit (like marbro and myself). Lots of help is available here either way.
