Hello there is a 2.2L Vtech engine in my town for $400!!!! I want to buy it to upgrade my 93 Honda accord, and I was wondering if anyone knows how much a complete swap of the engine would run me? And also I'm new to this whole car upgrade/maintenance thing, so I was wondering is there anything else I need to know about swapping out my engine?

Well a lot depends on what engine it is, by this I mean the engine code. Since it is a 2.2l VTEC I imagine its either a F22b1 or a H22a1/a4. Depending on which engine it is will effect how much it costs to swap in.

 

What vtec engine is it? f22b vtec? h22.
If it's the h22 then yes that's a good deal if the engine is in good working cond. If it's a f22b vtec don’t get it. You can get that engine at the pick in pull for around $100-ish.
