Default Reinstalling heat questions

Background: 2000 accord. the engine was swapped the heating and ac was disconnected. A f23 was swapped in to replace blown one.
I am missing most of the heating parts aka hoses and heater control valve.
I have the core, heating control system [***** for the fan and temp], and the blower fan works.
I live where I need defrosters.
1.I need a diagram where to connect the coolant hoses.
2.can I just bypass the control valve n just have heat.
3. I have gotten a new heating core with the car. Is there a easy way to test if the old core is good?

#1 - here's the smaller hoses on the engine, including the heater hoses & valve. If you don't have heater hoses, then maybe you don't have some of the other small hoses??

#2 - Maybe that'll work, but you also have to have the control cable connected to the air-blend doors so they are in the position for heat also.

#3 is easy - the heater core shouldn't leak, and it shouldn't be plugged with crud. If you're testing a core outside of the car, just use a hose to flow water through it. If possible, hook up the hose some way that it doesn't leak where it's connected - then you can see if the core itself leaks. Hook hoses to both pipes of the core, flow water through, then partly pinch off the outlet hose to give a little pressure on the core. Don't shut off the outlet completely - normal house water pressure is maybe 4x higher than the pressure of the car's cooling system.
