Default suspicious activity within my accord.

for some reason i have a feeling myaccord is burning oil....i never knew this was possible but for a couple of months now i been noticing that the oil is magically disappearing(i do my own oil changes so i thought that i wasn't tightening everything)so i had my dad do it a couple of weeks ago because he use to be a mechanic and i would leave a piece of cardboard under the car to see if there was a leak somewhere the next morningbut not even a drop but yet the oil seems to get lower and lower...can anyone tell me what can be the cause?

VTEC has been known to burn oil when it kicks in, if you have it. High RPM driving, engine wear, etc. all play a role in how much oil you burn. I had a spout of depression a few months ago and would drive my car insanely on winding roads. One weekend I drove about 300 miles averaging above 3k RPM and burned about 1 qt of oil.

Probably needs to be ran hard a little bit since it was babied so much. With that low of mileage it can't be burning much if any. I just turned 120k and haven't noticed mine burning any. Usually you can smell it a little bit in the exhaust.

actually i can smell it while im driving and i found it weird too because it makes no sense for an engine to burn oil unless there could be somehing internally could it be something with the engine itself?or is it the way i'm driving?

There's PLENTY of reasons why an engine would burn oil & it's all internal. Leaking valve stem seals. Oil-scraper rings beginning to go bad.

When's the last time you checked your PCV valve?
