why not just buy a new cap? arn't they only like $15 at wally world?

i could be wrong tho.

i have the same problem with my 98 accord the check engine light stays on all the time and when you open the fuel door it smells like gas bad.... I crank the gas cap down tight and it still stays on guess i will go to vato zone and get me a new gas cap today.....

Theres a handful of hoses going down there, not just the big fill pipe. Probably have to remove a cover inside the wheel well.

Check them for being cracked or disconnected or ??
