Most of the time you lose power when you change your vtec points......I have a bud with a j series boosted on a dunebuggy and he was tuning his and only making 300 whp because he changed his engagement points and he changed it back to stock and ...WOW what a difference i wouldnt mess wit vtak unless a shop is tuning it

Default RE: Vtec Controller

Mine was tuned for AF. They left my VTEC settings as I set them myself. My total gain was 1.2 seconds shaved off of my 0-60 time.

The AF tuning on an IHE setup gives a very minimal gain, however VTEC control works if you are using a computer to do it. A dial control is pointless.

Also, there are about 5 different types of VTEC, so 1 has different effects than the next. A NA J30 really likes the VTEC to engage at 3200 and disengage at 2800. Setting it up is easy ..... too low and it boggs down, back off a little bit and you're good. The TPS trigger also improves the response time of the system since it s instantaneous.
